MARRIED IN HOSPITAL
VICTIM OF MOTOR SMASH DEATH AFTER LONG ILLNESS [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] WANGANUI, Friday Having been married only a week ago as he lay in bed in the Wanganui Hospital, to which ho was admitted on Juno 17, 1934, suffering from injuries received in a motor-cycle accident, Mr. George William Loveridge, aged .'3l, a former resident of Kaitoke, died to-day.
The accident occurred on the Main North Boad at Westmere. Mr. Loveridge, with his fiancee, Miss Stella Jhurston, as pillion passenger on the motor-cycle, was coming into town from Brunswick, where they had been to visit Miss Thurston's people. At a corner a collision occurred with a car travelling toward Kai-iwi. Both Mr. Loveridge and Miss Thurston were taken to hospital, where the girl recovered. Just a week ago the couple were married, the ceremony being performed at Mr. Loveridge's bedside. The nurses of the hospital decorated the surroundings with autumn flowers. Action was taken 113' the police in November, 1934, against the driver of the car implicated in the accident, but he was acquitted of blame.
