BODY FOUND IN HARBOUR
RESIDENT OF TAURANGA [from our own correspondent] TAURANGA, Friday The body of Mr. Charles Francis John Biggs, president of the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce, was found in the harbour this morning. Mr. Biggs, who was a married man, aged 58, had been missing from his home since Sunday evening. An inquest was opened this afternoon before Mr. A. F. Tunks, district coroner, and after formal evidence had been given, It was adjourned sine die. Born in Taranaki, Mr. Biggs went to Te Puke about 30 years ago and entered the building and contracting trade. He later came to Tauranga, where he erected several of the main buildings in the town. A one-time chairman of the Tauranga Athletic Club, Mr. Biggs also was a member of the Tauranga Bowling Club and was keenly interested in Rugby and hockey.
