CROQUET AFTERNOONS
RAWHITI CLUB 'A very pleasant afternoon was spent at the Rawhiti croquet lawns, when the president, Mrs. E. Morton, and members, entertained their friends from other croquet clubs. The occasion was that of the club's 21st anniversary, and Mrs. Morton, after welcoming the visitors, presented posies to Mrs. Magill, president of the association, and Mrs. Keesing, secretary of the association. Among those present were Mesdames Magill, Keesing, T. H. Clarke, Jackson, Sawyer, Eaves, Kayes, Keatley, Sims, Taylor, Hollis, Wilkinson, Morton, Stubbs, Brown, Butler, McDonald, Ryalls, Mills, Walker, MacPherson, Urquhart, P. Thompson, Keller, Kellam, Hodgson, Thompson, Bishoff, Harvey, Bray, Mullins, Hamilton, Dukes, Sims, Innes-Allan, Webber, Blakey, Curtis, Newton, Bishop, Waites, Robertson, McPhail, Ryburn, McKelvie, Barnett, Watson, Grey, Forsyth, Mcßride, Newton, Mills, Jenkins, E. Robertson and Blakey.
The members of the club presented Mrs. Morton with a posy. Mrs. Walker who has been a member of the club since it opened, and Mrs. Taylor, a life member, also received posies. The pleasant weather and the perfect state of the green contributed greatly to the success of the gathering. Progressive croquet tournaments were played, the winners being:—A section: Mrs. Clarke, Mrs. Mullins and Mrs. Badeley. B section: Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. Curtis and Mrs. Keatley. Hidden number, Mrs. Newton. Afternoon tea was> served by the committee.
! ONEHUNGA CLUB FAREWELL A farewell afternoon for Mrs. W. T. Court (vice-president), Mrs. S. Hardley and Mrs. C. A. Robertson, who are leaving shortly on a visit to England was held by the president and members of the Onehunga Croquet Club on Tuesday. At the afternoon tea adjournment a gift was presented by Mrs. Kirkwood (president) to each of the guests of honour, who briefly thanked the president and members for their good wishes. Among those present were Mrs. J. Kirkwood, Mrs. J. B. Crawford, Mrs. W. T. Court, Mrs. J. T. Gill, Mrs. J. E. Cowell, Mrs. F. C. Patterson, Mrs. A. Craig, Mrs. J. Parr. Mrs. A. S. Burgess, Mrs. L. Bray, Mrs. S. Hardley, Mrs. Steel, Mrs. Poole, Mrs. C. A. Robertson, Mrs. W. Knight, Mrs. R. Buchanan, Mrs. D. Cuthbert, Mrs. J. J. Graham, Mrs. L. C. Schnackenberg, Mrs. A Hickman, Mrs. B. T.
