Mr. J. Dempsey, a member of,tho Auckland Electric-power Board, left f OP the South by train yesterday afternoon.
Mr. J. W. Mawson, formerly director of town-planning, returned to Welling, ton last week after a year's visit to England. Colonel J. E. Duigan, officer com- * manding the Northern Command, left for Rotorua by train yesterday to inspect the camp of the Waikato Mounted Rifles. Mr. Alan F. McSkimming left by train last evening for Napier, where he will act as adjudicator in the literary and elocutionary sections of the competitions at the Easter festival. The Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, will arrive in Auckland from Wellington this morning to fulfil a number of official engagements before the Easter holidays. The Minister will probably return to Wellington next Tuesday. Tho Hon. W. Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, will arrive at HamiU ton this morning from Wellington by the limited express and will spend t& afternoon at Raglan. This evening ha will attend tho annual meeting of the Matangi branch of tho Farmer®' Union. The Minister will return to Wellington, probably on Sunday night, to attend the annual conference of the Labour Party.
