WRESTLING SEASON
BOUT IN CHRIST CHURCH ' BLOMFIELD V. MEHRINGER [by TELEGRAPH —PRESS association] CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday In tha first wrestling bout to-night of the Christchurch season, "Lofty" Blomfield (New Zealand),' 16st. 81b., and Pete Mehringer (United States), 15st. 51b., drew, each gaining one fall. The bout was fast and interesting, and sometimes spectacular. Mehringer gained a fall in the fourth round with a spectaoular new hold, the double reverse grapevine, and in the seventh round Blomfield equalised with a Boston crab, applied, after the American had thrown him with five successive headlocks.
