INFLUENCE OVERSEAS DOMINION'S CLIMATE ENVIED The influential part played by the Christmas Number of The Weekly News in giving residents of overseas countries an insight into life and conditions in tho Dominion is acknowledged by a firm in New Jersey in a letter to an Auckland business firm. "Many people over here think of New Zealand as a comparatively small place," states tho writer, "and, while we realise the Islands are inhabitod, I suppose we have been inclined to think that your country is still very much undeveloped, the same as some countries still think the United States is over-run with Indians." Tho correspondent states that lie and others perusing The Weekly News Christmas Number are struck by the wide variety of sports and recreations which New Zealandcrs enjoy. Although there are splendid beaches along the Atlantic coast, continues the letter, relief and relaxation there can be obtained onl" in tho summer time. "Our only winter sport, however, is sticking very closo to the fireside," he adds. "Many of us would like nothing more than the opportunity to take a trip to that section of tho world."
