GROUNDS FOR HOCKEY

PROVISION AT PAPATOETOE The allocation of solo playing rights on the Papatoetoe recreation reserve to tho Auckland, Hockey Association during the coining season was decided upon by the Papatoetoe Town Board last night. Tho association wrote stating that it was prepared to hire the ground from May 1 to the end of September at a rental of £7O. This was equivalent to a rental of £lO per ground for the seven pitches available. The association was prepared to make payments of £25 in May and June, and the balance, £2O, in July. The board would be required to supply goal nets and posts, and to prepare the pitches when required. The chairman, Mr. W. J. Nicholson, in moving that the offer bo accepted, said tho Reserves Committee chairman, Mr. A. A. Civil, was to bo congratulated in negotiating the arrangements.
