NOTES FROM EVERYWHERE TRACK AND STABLE GOSSIP The hurdler Black Marlin has rejoined R S. Bagby's team at Ellerslie after being treated to a spell. He is a good jumper, but in the past has not been easy to train, F. J. SMITH'S HORSES TEAM FOR HUTT PARK The Takanini trotting trainer F. J. Smith is going to Wellington with King's Warrior, Lvnworthy and Francis Lincoln, who are to race at Hutt Park on Saturday next. After the Wellington meeting, Francis Lincoln will go on to Christchurch to join J- S. Shaw's stable. Francis Lincoln, who last season won at all distances, showed a.return to form at Epsom this month by registering a first and second in the main sprint events. He haß done all his racing for J. G. Robertson and has met with a good measure .of success. King's Warrior is at present one of the best handicap horses in pie province. A rare stayer, he has this season won five times at two miles in eight starts, being placed second in his first effort at the distance. He has a record of 4.24, and is in excellent racing condition. Lvnworthy is a very promising three-year-old and in his only five starts has 'registered a first, two seconds, and a ! third. He won in 2.49 3-5, and in his next race, after losing considerable ground at the start, finished second in 3.26. He is an improving youngster who should soon win again. W-ith the trotting horses Dilfashion, Gala Day, and Autumn Son also taking J>art at the Wellington meeting, Auckand stables will have strong representation. * ELLERSLIE MILE START . ALTERATION CONTEMPLATED The committee of the Auckland Racing Club has bad under eonsidera tion an alteration to the mile starting post at Ellerslie, The plantation near the point has been removed and some exploration work is being carried out before a final decision is made regarding the scheme. J. L. MUIR'S SUSPENSION APPEAL UNSUCCESSFUL The appeal of the jockey J. L. Muir against the three months' suspension imposed upon him by the judicial committee of the Rotorua Racing Club for interference with Teddy Boy in the Tarawera High-weight Handicap on February 10, was dismissed yesterday by the Auckland District Committee. ELLERSLIE HORSES GALLOP BY SIR ABB On the No. 1 grass at Ellerslie yesterday Sir Abb galloped a mile in 1.44, Tidalia bringing him home over the last half in 51 4-5s and finishing just in front. Sir Abb worked ;n good style but bled slightly toward the end. Knight of Australia, Tea Chat, Tidalia, Gallant Knight, Sir Abb, Red Flame and Vera Acre left for Te Aroha yesterday.
