ROTORUA NEWS

Mrs. Firth, who will shortly leave Rotorua to reside in Auckland, was the guest of honour at a farewell evening tendered by members of the Radiant Health Club at the home of Mrs. Quintan this week. Competitions, interspersed with musical items by Mrs. J. H. Bear and Miss June Quinlan, were enjoyed. After supper the retiring president, Mrs. jELingon, on behalf of the members, presented Mrs. Firth with a leather handbag and wished her every success and happiness in her new home. Members of the gardening circle of the Rotorua Women's Club were entertained by Mrs. G. H. French at her home in' Pukuatua Street this week. During the afternoon a talk was given by Mrs. Walker on gardens she had seen in her travels abroad, the speaker mentioning in particular those arranged by members of Royalty at the British Industries Fair. Among those present were-Mesdames Walker, S. Hale, Tyson, Walker, Skene Dixon, J. McDowell, A. Coates, E. A. Meredith, C. Dalgleish, Quinlan, Larnach, Blencowe, C. Newson and Peace, and the Misses Hoole and Robertson.

Mrs. G. Urquhart and Miss Betty Urquhart, Sophia Street, have returned from a visit to Mount Maunganui. Miss Clivena Young is spending a week at Mount Maunganui. Mrs. Briton Smith and Miss Tui Briton Smith, of Wellington, are visiting Rotorua. They are at Lake.House. Miss D. Corlett, of Botorua, is visiting Wellington.
