MINISTER RETURNS
VISIT OF REV. H. KELLY ASSOCIATION WITH PARNELL Visiting Auckland for the first time after an absence of 33.years the Rev. Hugh Kolly, of Melbourne, the first minister of Knox Chyrch, Farnell, arrived by the Wanganella yesterday. Mr. Kelly was accompanied by his daughter, Mrs- H- R. Brown, of Sydney. Mr. Kelly Svas appointed minister of Knox Church, Parnell; at its opening in 1898, and remained in charge until 1903, when he went to Melbourne to take, over St. Andrew's Church, Carlton. He later occupied two other important charges in Melbourne, but eight years ago he retired from active duty. During his retirement, however, he .has been busily occupied in .visiting and preaching in various churches in the oity and country. In addition, he. has been occupied as locum for four successive moderators in Melbourne. Mr. Kelly has travelled extensively in South Africa and in Europe, and for many years has contributed articles on literary, social and religious subjects to newspapers. It is Mr. Kelly's intention to remain ' in Auckland a fortnight and' he will i occupy the pulpit of his former church to-morrow and the following Sunday, He will be welcomed by the congregation at a social to be held on Tuesday evening. After leaving Auckland lie will probably spend a week visiting Rotorua and Wellington before returning to Australia.
