BRASS BANDS' CONTEST
DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP SUCCESS OF CAIRNS CITIZENS [jJY TELEGRAPH —%PRESS ASSOCIATION*] NEW PLYMOUTH, Friday The Cairns Citizens' Band won the New Zealand A grade championship with the second test to-night. Woolston was second and St. feilda third". Timaru, which was placed first on the first test j on Wednesday night, was in fourth place. The success of the Cairns Band after its long journey was popular with the crowd of 4000. The quickstep will be decided to-morrow. The aggregate points were: —Cairns. 203; Woolston, 291; St. Kilda, 289: Timaru. 285. The test piece to-night was a selection from Liszt arranged by Rimmer.
