STATE MINES STILL IDLE
MINISTER'S VISIT AWAITED QUESTION OF SLACK TIME [by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] GREYHOtJTH, Thursday The State mine workers are still idle as a protest against the alleged unfair treatment in the allocation of railway trucks for the conveyance of coal from the State collieries as compared with the smaller collieries in the district, to which the miners attribute slack time at the mines. The Liverpool miners decided on Wednesday morning to return home without working, and they, along with the James mine workers, are now remaining idle until Monday, until which time they will be awaiting a visit from the Minister of Mines, Mr. Webb, with whom they wish to discuss matters relating to the cause of Black time. In event of the Ministerial visit not being paid, the union threatens to take drastic action.
