THREE POLICE RAIDS
GLENDOWIE CLUB VISITED TWO PREMISES IN CITY SEIZURES OF LIQUOR MADE Police raiding parties were active at the week-end, search warrants being executed at the Glendowie Country Club. Glendowie, as well as at two premises in the city. The visits were made within a period of four hours. The police entered the club at two o'clock yesterday morning, when dancing was in progress, and activities were suspended while the officers took the names of people present. A search'was made of the premises, and a quantity of liquor seized. The police party was in charge of Sub-Inspector Scott. ; Shortly before 10 o'clock on Saturday Mr. Scott and Sergeants Farrell and Doel and a constable raided a boarding-house in Pitt Street, City, where they seized a small quantity of liquor. A search warrant was then executed at premises in Victoria Street West, known as the Central Grill lioom, by Mr. Scott and Sergeant Doel, who again seized a small quantity of liquor.
