INSTITUTE PARTY
The Hakarau Women's Institute celebrated its birthday with a novelty outdoor sports programme, followed by a dance in the evening. The presence of the Blind Boys' Band, which rendered music for the dance, added to the pleasure of the function. The Hakarau Hall was filled to capacity, and there were many interesting and novel dances. Supper was served by the members of the institute. Mrs. Wintle, the president, cut the birthday cake, which bad been made and decorated by a member of the lvaiwaka Institute, Mrs. W. Dunn.
