■4- - TOTAL OF £SOOO REALISED ALLOCATION FOR RELIEF FUNDS [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION"] WELLINGTON. Friday The amount of £SOOO was realised from Art Union No. 46, recently drawn. The Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, stated to-day that the £SOOO was to be allocated for the relief of distress thoughout the Dominion and distributed by the various mayoral or other officially recognised central relief funds. The apportionment would be made on a pro rata basis of unemployed registrations, provided the registrations totalled 30 or more.
The Minister pointed out that although the distribution was based on unemployed registrations, those figures were merely taken-, as an indication of the measure of distress existing in various localities throughout the Dominion, and the amounts made available were to be applied for the relief of distress generally.
