OVERSEAS LEAGUE
VISITOR WELCOMED To enable Miss C. D. Warren, of Glasgow, to meet the members of the Overseas League, a delightful tea was held in the league rooms yesterday morning. Miss Warren, who is hon. hostess of the Glasgow branch of the league, is making a tour of New Zealand, and will visit Australia before returning to Scotland. For yesterday's function the rooms were arranged with large bowls of flame and white gladioli and lovely shaded hydrangeas. In welcoming the guest of honour, on behalf of the committee, Miss E. M. Emerson, vice-president, spoke of the bond of friendship existing between members of the league and the great pleasure the members felt in meeting visitors from overseas. During the morning songs were given by Miss Leonore Dunnet, the accompaniments being played by Mrs. Beniams. The guest of honour and Miss Dunnet were the recipients of bouquets of dahlias and waterlilies from the members. An address on the activities of the Overseas League was given by Miss Warren. The members of the executive committee present included:—Mrs. ,T. M. Melville. Mrs. F. Whyte, Mrs. M. Smart, Mrs. A. E. French, Miss -T. McClymont, Miss A. Walker and Miss N. Montgomery.
