EMPIRE CONGRESS
CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE SESSION AT WELLINGTON The first Congress of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of th» British Empire to be held in New Zealand. will take place at Wellington during the first week of nest October. A large number of overseas delegates are expected to attend. , r|j A circular from the Federation of Chambers of Commerce concerning the congress was received at a meeting of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce yesterday. The congress will be in session for a week, and visiting delegates will then be taken on a tour , of both the North and South Islands. Complimentary railway travel has been ottered by the Government for the delegates and their wives. The tour of New Zealand is to be so arranged as to permit delegates from overseas to reach their homes in time for Christmas. This wili be the 14th congress held, and although previously they hare taken place in varioui parts of the Empire, including England, Canada, Australia and South Africa* this will be the first to be held in New Zealand.
