RAIN IN AUSTRALIA
MANY AREAS FLOODED CROPS AND . ORCHARDS SUFFER (Received October 22, 7.2-1 p.m.) SYDNEY. Oct. 22 Following a long dry period, the whole of yNew South Wales now has been drenched by incessant rain which began at tho weok-ond and is continuing. From southern areas local floodings are reported. Pastoral areas in the far west even had a substantial rainfall which completely changed tho seasonal prospects. Large areas aro under water at Dubbo and Wellington. Tho rivers Murray, Murrumbidgce and Lachlan are overflowing. Wheat crops and orchards have been severely damaged.
