NEW LEG-BEFORE RULE REQUEST FOR ADOPTION SYDNEY. Oot. 22 The Marylebone Cricket Club has asked the Australian Board of Control to agree to eniploy the experimental leg-before wicket rule in matches in which the M.C.C. team will be engaged in Australia, prior to the tour of New Zealand (opening at Wellington on December 13). The members of the board are now taking a postal ballot on the matter. LONDON PRESS VIEW UNIVERSAL ADOPTION LONDON, Oct. 21 The Daily Mail says the Marylebone Club's cablegram to Australia regarding the leg-beforo ride foreshadows the universal adoption of the rule in spite of the opposition of English professionals. Obviously the M.C.C. is completely satisfied that Holmes will welcome the move. Bradman years ago pressed for an amendment of tho rule and is certain to strongly .support tho M.C.C.'s request. -The South Africans already havo urged that the rule should bo permanent. New Zealanders also may bo invited to try tho rule, but it only needs Australia's affirmative to bring nil countries in lino. The experiment i,,';,; 7 certainly will be continued in England in 1936. .
