EASTERN UNITED CLUB It is regretted that the small active membership has prevented ■ adequate patrols from being in attendance as regularly as could be desired, states the teport presented at tho annual meeting of .the. Eastern United Surf Life-Saving Club. Nevertheless on five occasions during the past year assistance was rendered by patrolmen. In competition work the club enhanced its reputation by winning tho national march past championship, winning their heat and finishing fourth in the final of» tho four-man event. , In' tho provincial championships the team gained third placo in tho Speedo Shield contest and third in the heltmea'f" championship. ..Visits were paid to the.-'Mil-ford Girls' and Piha Clubs and an educational visit was made to Orewa at the request of the association.
