OFFICIAL OPENING DAY NOVEMBER 16 CHOSEN RAGING DATES ALLOTTED A decision to open the 1935-36 yachting season in Auckland on Saturday, November 16, was made at the annual meeting of the Auckland Yacht and Motor-Boat Association last evening. With the exception of the Royal New Zea. land Yacht Squadron, which will hold a. general handicap for keel yachts and a race for M class, all the other cluba will hold combined harbour and cruising races. The destination of the combined clubs' cruising' events is Islington Bay. The Squadron keel yachts will race to a different place from - tho smaller club boats, the destination not being decided until opening day. All oventu will start from oif King's Wharf. The report, a summary of which appeared in the Herald last Thursday, was adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Chairman, Mr. C. H. T. Palmer: vice-chairman, Mr. W. J. Keid; honorary secretary and treasurer. Mr. A. J. Collings; auditor, Mr. B. W. Beaumont; measurers! class X, Messrs. E. J. Kelly and A. V.P Tyre; mullet boats, Mr. G. Miller; honorary solicitor, Hon. J. Alexander; starter, Mr. E. Culhane; assistant-starters, Messrs. G. • Mobberley. E. P. Wild. T. McKnight, G. E. Laycock; time keepers, Messrs. G. E. Lay- ~ cock, T. McKnight; recorders, Messrs. A.
