INTOXICATED MOTORIST
CANCELLATION OF LICENCE [by telegraph—own correspondent] PAEROA, Monday A sequel to a motor collision on a bend on the Paeroa-Waihi road on Saturday was heard in the Paeroa Police Court to-day before two justices. Malcolm McLeod, of Waikino, a miner, was charged with having driven a car While under the influence of liquor. Constable Maiden, who prosecuted, stated that, following tho collision, the two parties came to Paeroa to report the mishap. McLeod was then under the influence of liquor, and at 6 p.m. a certificate to that effect was given by Dr. L. S. Davis. Accused was convicted and his licence was cancelled for the remainder of its period. An order was also made for the payment of costs and expenses.
