RECENT DROWNING CASE
BODY FOUND IN RIVER CONSTABLE'S SACRIFICE

The body of a man, believed to be that of Constable C. H. Williams, wKo .. was drowned in the Waikato River at Hamilton on August 13, waß found in the river, near Taupiri, this evening, The spot is not easy of access and the body could not be removed to-night. It will probably be conveyed to Hamilton to-morrow morning. Constable Williams lost his life "while- trying to rescue Miss Daisy Hislop, who was drowned.
The Royal Humane Society of New Zealand has awarded an "In Memoriam" certificate and a silver medal to * the next-of-kin of Constable Williams, while Mr. C. A. Clark, who also attempted to rescue Miss Hislop, has been awarded the society's silver medal. The presentations will be made at Hamilton by the Mayor, Mr. J. R. Fow, who is a vice-president of the society. 'i
