TAXI IN COLLISION

PASSENGERS NOT INJURED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE DONE [BT TELEGRAPH OWN" correspondent] TE PUKE, Tuesday A taxi driven by Mr. Ross Kidd, with several passengers, returning after taking a party to Papamoa from the Hunt Club dance at Paengaroa Hall, had a head-on collision with a car owned by Mr. Williams, of Mount Maunganui, on the portion of the road between Papamoa and Te Puke known as the "long swamp." Thtire were four persons in Mr.'Williams' car. The impact caused the taxi to swing off the road over a drain, comins to rest half-way through a fence. Extensive damage was done to the front portion of the vehicle. The front mudguard of Mr. Williams' car was badly smashed. Mr. Kidd and his party were picked up by Mr. Fred Collins and conveyed to Te Puke. None of them suffered serious injuries. Mr. Williams was able to drive home in his own car. : -
