CRIPPLED CHILDREN
HOME IN TASMANIA LORD NUFFIELD'S GIFT In appreciation of the gift of £50,000 by Lord Nuffield for the help of crippled children in Australia, the Commonwealth Ministry has decided to make available free of charge an area of ten acres of land at Taroona. near Hohart for the establishment of a convalescent home for such children. The Federal Cabinet decided some time ago that Lord Nuffield's gift should be used for the establishment of. or to assist, convalescent institutions in the States where crippled children are cared for. Such institutions exist in all States except Tasmania. Lord Nuffield's gift, with interest, will amount to £50,900. Tasmania's share will be £7550.
