DEATH OF BUSHMAN
BLOW FROM TREE LIMB FATALITY AT MAMAKU [by telegraph—own correspondent! ROTORUA, Tuesday An inquest was held to-day regarding tho death of James Venetahi Brown, aged 50, a bushman, in Rotorua Hospital on August 29. Mr. Brown died following injuries received while he was working in Gamman's Bush at Mamaku The evidence of deceased's workmates showed that a large tawa tree was felled, but was suspended in midair by the foliage of another treo. As the result of a sudden gust of wind it broke loose and a large limb, which »vus torn from the trunk, crashed downwards, striking Mr. Brown heavily jjn the head and shoulders. The medical evidence was to the olfeet that death was due to cerebral hemorrhage. Tho coroner, Mr. W. L. Richards, returned a verdict accordingly.
