TAUPIRI CONCERT
The Taupiri Women's institute held a very successful function in the form of a husbands' evening. Mrs. W. faring, on behalf of members, presented the president, Mrs. L. h. Clark, with a beautiful pot of cyclamen as an appreciation of her services in the training of the members for the concert. Dance music was played by Mrs. L. E. Clark and Misses T. Baucke, J. Walter and P. Griffin. A competition for the lucky buttonhole was won by Mr. L. Beck. The concert programme was as follows: —Pyjama dance by junior members: soprano solo by Mrs. Juby (Whangamarino); song in costume, bv Mrs. S. A. Clarke; recitations by Miss G. A. Jones (Auckland), and Mrs. A. J. Smith; short sketch "The Cjharladv Chaperones," by Misses Jl. Walter', A. Clarke and Mrs. L. E. Clarke; a one-act play. " The Imposter. by Mrs G. Walter, Mrs. J. Murphy and Misses G. Buss. K. Fulton. J. Stanley and M. Walter; duet in character, by Misses A. Clarke and M. Walter.
