SPRING FLOWERS
SHOWS IN THE NOftTH DARGAVILLE AND RUAWAI [BT TELEGRAPH—OW.V COKRESPONDUNT} DARGAVILLE, Monday In spite of the unfavourable soason a fine display of bulbs and spring flower* was made at the Holy Trinity flower and industrial show. Tho trophy for most points in the bulbs classes was won by Mrs. B. S. Angus with 80 points. Sho generously ihanded the trophy over to the next on the list. Mrs. M. 0. AstJey won tho points prize. The following wero the principal pm<»winners:—Bulb section: Mesdames B. S. Angus, A. McCiillough, A. Edmonds, F. J. Dargaville, S. H. Pierce, J. R. Cook. Decorative: Mesdames J. Hosking, B. 6>. Angus, M. C. Astley, T. Allen, Miss B. Haden. Children's class: Misses Haden, B. Harris, M. NeelHon, S. Hughes, CI. Haden, E. Haden. Cub flowers: Mesdames F. J. Dargaville, Butland, A. Crabb, G. H. Morrish, W. Haden, M. C. Astley, N. Robinson, H. S. Johnson, L. Lawrence. A wheelbarrow derby, which created considerable interest, was von by Mrs. A. Downev and Miss Carpenter. The Ruawai Methodist spring flower show was well attended. Points prizes were won as follows: —Blooms: Mrs. W. A. Craven, 2o points. Decorations: Mrs. Sterling, 11 points. Cooking: Mrs 0. Whitcombe, 13 |>oints. Highest points for all sections: Mrs. Sterling, 45 points.
