"More serious charges are pending." «aid Senior-Detective Hail in tho Police Court yesterday, when Francis John Peckham, aged 37, a South Sea Islander, was chmrged before Mr. F. K Hunt. S.M., with being deemed to be an idle and disorderly person, in that ho habitually consorted with reputed thievec. Accused, for whom Mr. Noble appeared. was remanded until September 12. Counsel pointed out that accused had only been out of prison a month, and had been unable to obtain a job.
