NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP The New Zealand amateur billiards chainpionship hns' drawn 16 entries, of which eight are from tho south. From Dunedin A. Bowie and E. N, Stewart have entered. Canterbury is represented by R. F. McKay and H. McLean, and Wellington by C. Peek, A. Duncan, S. Whyte and P. Devine. The Auckland entrants are G. Hogben, M. D. White, iE. J. Good hew, J. N. Donohuo, L. Holdsworth, W. E. Hackett, E. W. Warren and J. G. Adams. H. McLean, of Christchurch, is the present holder of the title, and competing past champions are A. Bowie, A. Duncan, W. E. Hackett and E. W. Warren. Tho opening game to-ntorrow night will be between M. D. White and E. J. Goodhew and tho match is creating much interest. White is tho present holder of the Auckland amateur championship, for the fifth year, while Goodhew hns held the title on two occasions. Tho Mayor, Mr. Ernest Davis, who is patron of the Auckland Billiards Association, will open the tournament, which is to be held at the Vulcan Billiards Parlours. The game will commence at 7.30 o'clock.
