PATHETIC TRAGEDY
* ORPHAN OF A FLOOD CHILD TIED IN A TREE GENOA. Aug. 15 Atriong the most pathetic stories of tho Ovada flood disaster is that of a peasant who, caught in the fields near Chiaie, took up his little daughter in his arms, climbed a tree and tied tho child in the branches. Ho then went home to rescue his wife, but the house collapsed and both were killed. Tho child romained in the tree until pightfall, when a soldier, hearing hor Screams, rescued her.
