NEWS FROM OKOROIRE

An enjoyable dance was held in Okoroire Hall last week, when the hall committee organised a " poster ball.' Unfortunately the purport of the dance was lost sight of as only one lady, Miss A. Stevens, appeared in fancy costume. She was awarded the prize, foi an ingenious and attractive dress. Mr. 11. Hayes was in charge of floor arrangements. The programme consisted or modern and old-time dancing. Among those present were:—-Mrs. .L,. Gubb, wearing maroon marocam; Mrs. S. Parker, nudnight blue satin; Mrs. H. Bellamy, scarlet crepe delaine; Mrs. J. Brown, black satin with gold lame trimming; Mrs. P. Castleton, apricot satin beaute; Mrs. G. Brown, white windswept satin; Miss J. Garruth, lemon crinkle crepe; Miss E. Goodwin, cherry red georgette; Miss H. ttarawick, palo blue crepe inarocain; Miss M. Lead beater (Matamata), i spotted San Toy satin; Miss M. Barker (Je papa), turquoise crinkle crepo; Miss V. Gubb, polka dotted silk net; Miss 0. Barker (Te Papapa), black satin; Miss F. Lee, floral organdie; Miss K. ballerv pale blue ring velvet; Miss Barker (Te Papapa), lime green suede marocain; Miss P. Withers (Tirau), apple green patterned silk lace. . Miss K. Gallery, of Okoroire, is visitinc her parents at Mercer. Sliss J. Carruth has returned after a short visit to friends in Rotorua.
