PHILISTINES' CLUB
The fortnightly social of the Philistines' Club was held in the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society's hall on Saturday. The chairman for tho evening Mr. H. T. King, with Mrs. King, received the guests. Mrs. King wore a frock of dove grey and crimson Chantilly lace. A well-arranged programme was much appreciated, items beintr contributed by Miss Una Moore, who"recited, Miss Verna Wishart and Mr Robert Simmers, who sang, Mr. Ronald Muston, who played violin solos, Mr. Dan Flood, who provided humour, and the Moore sisters, who comprised an instrumental trio. A one-act play entitled She Who Laughs Last " was presented by Miss Una Moore, Miss Noni Wright, Miss Una Clinkard, Miss Edna Craig and Mips Ollie Abdullah. Among those present were: —Mrs. i?. Worrall, Mrs. Coster, Mrs. H. G. Savers, Mrs. Johnstone Topliss, Mrs. H. Alder, Mrs. A. J). Maxwell, Mrs. G. Wilson, Mrs. le Petit, Mrs. Burton, Mrs. Phil Barnett, Mrs. K. Sinclair, Mrs. L. Bnrtley, Mrs. B. Morris, Mrs. W. J. Pallen, Mrs. T>. Taylor, Mrs. C. D. McLean, Mrs. W. H." McKinney, Mrs. J. Poole, Mrs. N. Spier, Mrs. F. E. Hardley, Miss Myrtle Burns, Miss Kay Benner, Miss D.
