81 YEARS OF PROGRESS
ST. JOHN'S, PAPATOETOE REUNION OF PARISHIONERS Many old associations were revived and old memories recalled at a reunion of past and present members of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Papatoetoe, held on Saturday afternoon in connection with the church's 81st anniversary. Among; those present was Miss R. Wyllie, of Papatoetoe, one of the original members of the church. The minister, the Rev. T. H. Roseveare, presided over a largo attendance. Many of the old historical documents relating to the church's establishment and extension were displayed and they created much interest among tho younger people. Addresses were given by the Rev. H. W. Hitchcock, moderator of the South Auckland Presbytery, find Mr. Norman Macky, a grandson of the Rev. John Macky, the church's first minister. Items were given and afternoon tea was served by a committee of ladies. Special services were held yesterday. The morning service was conducted by the Rev. G. Budd, superintendent of home and Maori missions, while the Rev. T. H. Roseveare was the preacher at the evening service. There were largo congregations at both services, and anthems were sung by the choir, conducted by Mr. G. Foster. The anniversarj- celebrations will conclude with n ccngregational gathering on Thursday evening.
