FAREWELL SERVICES
ST. STEPHEN'S CHURCH REV. F. B. BARTON'S DEPARTURE Farewell services were conducted by the Bev. Frazer 13. Barton at St. Stephen's Preshvterian Church, Ponsonbv, yesterday, in viev of his departure this week to take charge of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Gore. Both the morning and evening services, which marked the conclusion of a ministry of 1-1 years, were well attended. Mr. and Mrs. Barton were the guests of the combined men's and women's Bible classes at a tea in the afternoon. At this gathering an opportunity was taken to present them with a silver tea service and cups as a gift from the Bible class members. The evening service was preceded by an organ recital given bv Mr. W. H. Simpson, the church organist. The soloists at the service were Misses Jean Morrison and 0. Ball, and Mr. A. Morrison. In addition to a parade by Girl Guides and the Boys' Brigade, there was a full attendance of Bible class members at the service. A valedictory social will be held in the church hall on Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Barton will leave for the South on Friday.
