ALL SOULS' CHURCH
CHILDREN'S BALL HELD In connection with All Souls' Roman Catholic Church, Devonport, a children's plain and fancy-dress ball was held in the Masonic Hall last evening. The hall was decorated with blue and gold streamers, while bowls of daffodils were arranged on the tables in the eupper room. The fancy costumes were judged by Mrs. Owen Kelly, Mrs. F. S. Procter and Mr. F. Williams. The prize-winners were:—Best dressed, Yvonne Harper, who represented a prince; most original girl, Mary McDonald, who represented "Tasman Air Mail"; most original boy, Bonny Taylor and John McKernen, who represented "Laurel and Hardy." The prizes were presented by Father Furlong. The committee responsible for the success of the function comprised Mrs. Jj. Simmonds, Mrs. J. Walsh, Mrs. W. Tanner, Mrs. C. Harper, Mrs. A. Bell, Mrs. A. Cameron, Mrs. W. Perkins and Mrs. J. Buston.
