HOCKEY VISITORS
MORNING TEA HELD To officially welcome the lioekey teams which are visiting Auckland during the annual Country Week tournament, a morning tea was given in the Milne and Choyce tearooms yesterday by the Auckland Ladies' Hockey Association. The tables were adorned with vases of yellow jonquils and Iceland, poppies. The pillars were attractively hung with loops of ribbon in the colours of the various teams, and at the end of each loop was attached a team pennant. Crossed hockey sticks were another appropriate' feature in the decorations. The guests were received by members of the executive on arrival, and later a welcome was extended to the visiting teams by the president, Mr. L. C. Kent, to which Mr. Wykes, of Northern Wairoa, replied on behalf of the guests. . Officials present were: —Mrs. E. Davis, patroness of the Auckland Ladies Hockey Association; Mrs. L. Clark, Miss M- Goldsbro and Mr. F. Nicholson, vice-presidents of the Auckland Ladies' Hockey Association; Miss 01i\e Bishop, representing the Auckland Yoiuif Women's Christian Association; Mr. and Mrs. H. Watts; Mrs. B. Cooper; Mrs. Nash, Mr. L. Spooner and Mr. E. Hewitt, of the Auckland Hockey Association, and Mrs. E. Hewitt; Miss E. 11. Burton, Miss E. Jeffery, Miss Cullen and Miss Morgan, executive members; Mrs. Wylie, Miss I. Nealis and Mrs. Nicholson, tourney committee; Mr. Cooper, of the lailiape Ladies' Hockey Association; Mr. F. Clark, representing the Umpires Association; Miss M. Hutton \\ hitelaw, representing the Auckland Women's Cricket Association; Miss P. H. Dawson, co-selector, life member and chairwoman of the executive; Mrs. W Fuller, life member and co-selector; Mrs. Hamlin, co-selector of the Auckland Ladies' Hockey Association; Miss Moris-Clark, collegiate section selector; and Miss Twiuame, honorary secretary of the Ladies' Hockey Association. The teams represented were: —Waipa, laeroa, Rodney, Auckland, Whangarei, Northern Wairoa, King Country, Waikato and Piako. Others present were the managers and cliaperones of the visiting teams, which were represented by over 170 members.
