TAURANGA NEWS
A very happy little gathering assembled at tho Women's Division c!ub rooms, tlio occasion being the anniversary of the establishment of this very valuable addition to the well-being of country women and their families when visiting the town. A largo number of members from town and country attended and there were also present Mrs. Wilkinson (the Mayoress), Mr. and Mrs. McKinnon, Mrs. R. 13. Shearman and Mrs. Russell Wallace. Amusing competitions were held during the afternoon, the winners being Mrs. Hardwick, Mrs. Johnson (Pyes Pa) and Mrs. Wallace. The mystery parcel was won by Mrs. Fatten. A feature of the afternoon tea was the birthday cake cut by Mrs. White, the provincial secretary, after its ono candle had been lit by Mrs. London and blown out by little Kay Johnson. Later, presentations were made to Mrs. White by Mrs. Christian, president of the Tauranga branch, and by Mrs. Johnson, secretary of the Pyes Pa branch, in recognition of the work she has done for the movement.
