RECEPTION TO MISS BEGG The glamour and beauty of India was shown in posters displayed on the walls of the Y.W.C.A. hall, Upper Queen Street, on Thursday afternoon when a membership "At Homo" was held in honour of Miss Joan Bcgg, national general secretary of the Y.W.C.A. of India, Burma and Ceylon, and formerly general secretary of the local branch of the association.' Mrs. T. Clark, chairman of the membership committee, warmly welcomed Miss Begg, and presented her with a spray of pink carnations. On the stage with the guest of honour and Mrs. Clark were Mesdames A. D. Campbell (president) and H. D. Bennett, acting-president of tho National Board of the Y.W.C.A.' Miss Begg gave an interesting resume of the association's activities in India. During tho afternoon songs were rendered by Mesdames Armstrong, Kever and Kirkup, while Miss E. G. Scott gave a brief outline of the finance campaign to bo launched in the beginning of August. Afternoon tea was dispensed by members of the membership committee.
