PLUNKET BABIES
THE BEAUTY COMPETITION PRESENTATION OF PRIZES The final event in the Most Beautiful Plunket Baby Competition, which was held recently, was the presentation of prizes to the fortunate -winners which took place at the Plunket headquarters yesterday afternoon. Several members of the committee were present, in addition to the mothers of the successful competitors, and the president of the society, Mrs. J. C. Allan, presented tlip prizes. These took the form of silver serviet rings all alike, and decorative parchment certificates on which was printed the name of the competition, •the winners' names, and the particular class in which they were successful. The' donors of the rings were the Mavor, Mr. Ernest Davis, Lady Wilson, Mrs. Hugh Kirker and Mr. J. S. Milne. Mrs. Allan briefly spoke of the success that had attended the competition, which had resulted in a sum of £525 being raised, and of the formation of the Junior Plunket League by means of which it was hoped to develop and maintain the interest of the younger generation in the work of the society. The serving of afternoon tea brought the ceremony to an end.
