THE MAORI RACE
ADDRESS AT WRITERS' CLUB
"Tho Maori People" was the title of an address given to members of the Writers' Club by Mr. George Graham yesterday afternoon. Before he commenced his talk Miss Joan Ross recited Gloria Rnwlinson's poem, "The Greenstone Tiki."
Mr. Graham most appropriately began with a Maori greeting, which he later translated for tho benefit of his audience. He reviewed briefly the coming of the white man to New Zealand, 'and then proceeded to discuss tribal customs. , Mrs. King, accompanied by Mrs. McKinney, rendered two Maori songs, both her own compositions.
