EXTENSION PROPOSALS MATERIAL NOW ON ORDER [by telegraph—own correspondent] DARGAVILLE, Saturday The chairman of the North Auckland Electric-Power Board, Mr. J. A. McLean, has been informed by the Rt. Hon. J G. Coates, M.P., in a letter written at Panama, that provision is being made in this year's Estimates for the construction of the main power line from Henderson to Tahckeroa, serving Rodney County. The material is already on order. Mr. Coates also stated that when the contract for the supply of current with the Public Works Department had been signed material for the line from Tahekeroa northward would be ordered. Polls of ratepayers in connection with the proposals of the North Auckland Electric-Power Board to raise loans of £267,000 and £30,000 for the reticulation of the hoard's district and to provide advances to consumers res|>octivelv wore carried on May 8. In commenting on the result of the polls, the chairman of the board said the board would proceed without delay with the reticulation of North Auckland, with the object of being ready when the Public Works Department had completed the main power line. It is expected that the proposed works will be completed in about 18 months or two years.
