NORTH AUCKLAND NEWS
Miss Jean Fraser, of Hamilton, is visiting Rawene. Mrs. J. Lovie, of Whangarei, is visiting Rawene as tho guest of Mrs. J. Frain. Mrs. F. Petherbridge and Miss Bubbles Petherbridge are visiting Rawene, and are the guests of Mrs. J. Frain. Mrs. F. Creighton, of Taikawhana, is visiting Umawera. Mrs. J. Francis lias returned to Oruru after spending some months with her son at Wellsford. Mrs. P. Crene, of Takahue, left for Auckland and Hamilton last week. Mrs. Gracie, who has been teaching at the Pukepoto Native School for some years, has been transferred to Whirinaki, The first of the series of card evenings to bo organised by the Catholic community was held in Kaitaia. Mrs. H. R. Watts and Mr. J. Brewer were the leading players, and Misses M. and D. Puckey gained the consolation awards. The Mangonui Women's Institute held their annual ball recently, the first part of the programme being given over to the children. Prizes for the best fancy dress costumes were awarded.
