SOCIETY OF MUSICIANS

At Warwick Chambers, Mr. W. D. Webber presided over a large number of members and guests of the instrumental circle of the Society of Musicians. The scries of which commenced with the subject "Russian Music," given by Mr. Alfred Jeffrey, was continued, the speaker being Miss Kathleen Jackson, and the subject "Beethoven." Miss Amy Hansard, the vocal guest of the evening, sang "When Daisies Pied" (Arne), "Pastorale" (Veracini) and "A Knight in Bethlehem" (Thomson), Miss Gladys Searell playing the accompaniments. All the instrumental items were composed by Beethoven. The piano solos were; "Rage Over a Lost Penny," and the following movements from sonatas: "Op. 10 No. 1," "Scherzo," "Op. 14 No. II.," "Adagio from Pathetique," "Theme and Variations," "Allegro op. 81A," "First Movement from Sonata in F sharp Major," "Adagio," "Op. 78, Second Movement," violin and piano Sonata No. 7, piano duets: "2nd Movement 2nd Symphony"; "Ist Movement sth Symphony"; "German dances, Nos. 1 and 3." The players were Misses Sunday Mowbray, Netta Simich, Freda Crook, J. Easton, Pearl Wallace, Becky Pelham, Patricia McLeod, Mrs. Fowler, Miss Mary Murphy, Mrs. Dtindas Edmonds, Miss Amabel Thompson, Misses Joyce Smith, Connie Martin, Audrey Thompson, Edna Smith, Noni Griffin.
