WAIKATO WINTER SHOW

OPENING TO-MORROW VISIT OF GOVERNOR-GENERAL [from oub own correspondent'] HAMILTON, Sunday Among those who have intimated their intention of visiting the Waikato Winter Show, which will be officially opened by the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, on Tuesday afternoon, are the acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. E. A. Ransom; the Hons. R. Masters, A. Hamilton, C. E. Macmillan, J. G. Cobbe, J. Bitchener, and Sir Alexander Youhg, members of tho Cabinet; Sir Alexander Herdman; Major-General Sir William SinclairBurgess, General Officer Commanding tho New Zealand Military Forces; Mr. Justice Reed; Mr. M. J. Savage, Leader of the Opposition; members of Parliament; Mr. C. Muntz, British trado commissioner; Mr. C. M. Croft. Canadian trade commissioner; Mr. W. A. Singleton, director of the dairy division of the Department of Agriculture; Mr. G. A. Bucklin, American Consul-General; Mr. A. W. Essex, of the Canadian Pacific Railways; and Mr. C Backhouse, of the National Dairy Association, Wellington.

The arrangements in connection with the show are nearly complete. The Governor-General is expected to arrive in Hamilton at noon on Tuesday, and after lunching with the Mayor, Mr. J. R. Fow, he will inspect a guard of honour provided by Hamilton secondary schools.

Lord Galway will be welcomed by the president of the Waikato Winter Show Association, Mr. W. E. Clark, and the official opening will take place in the new Bledisloe Agricultural Hall at 2 p.m. During the afternoon tea adjournment His Excellency will be introduced to members of tho Hamilton Borough Council. The show will remain open for a week.

ROTORUA EXHIBITION SUCCESSFUL THIRD DAY [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT"] KOTOKUA, Saturday A largely-attended and successful concert brought tho Rotorua Winter Show to a close last evening. The decision of the executive to keep the show open three days, instead of two, has been justified by events. Wintry conditions on Wednesday and Thursday interfered wit 11 the attendance, particularly ol visitois from the country. A day of brilliant sunshine yesterday turned the tide of fortune and made tho total of visitors to the show slightly larger than last year. r
