The Rev. C. W. Duncumb, of Napier, has accepted the unanimous call to the Shackleton Road Baptist Church, Mount Eden. He will commence his ministry on Sunday, July 7.
Mr. W. W. Bowker, chairman of British Neon Corporation, Limited, and Mr. S. Tombs, manager of the company, returned by the Monowai yesterday from a business trip to Sydney.
Mr. R. V. S. McPherson, Melbourne manager of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, was recentlv appointed chairman of the Melbourne Woolbrokers' Association.
Captain V. G. Webb, marine superintendent of the Union Steam Ship Company, and Mr D. Campbell, repairs superintendent, will be passengers for Sydney by the Aorangi this evening.
Mr. R. H. Norman, passeuger manager for the Orient Steam Navigation Company, is passing through Auckland by the Aorangi on his way back to Sydney after a business visit to Sura.
Mr. G. A. Glennie, who has been appointed passenger representative of the Canadian Pacific Railways in Wellington, arrived at Auckland from Vancouver yesterday. He is accompanied by ; Mrs. Glennie
Mr. N. Nash, superintendent of the Hawaiian Pineapple Company, arrived at Auckland from Honolulu yesterday. He is a relative of Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P., of Palmerston North, and will spend a short holiday in New Zealand.
Mr. R. S. Hayhoe, managing-director of Messrs. Perry, Leon and Hayhoe, the Johannesburg agents of the Union Steam Ship Company, arrived by the Monowai yesterday, accompanied by Mrs. Hayhoe. They are at the Grand Hotel.
Mr. Fritz Hart, of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, is passing through Auckland by the Aorangi on his way to Australia, after acting as guest conductor to the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra for a four months' season.
The Rt. Rev. C. A. Cherrington, Bislion of Waikato. the Rev. P. Sergei and Messrs, A. B. Whyte, H. G. Sergei and J. G. Bateson have left Hamilton to take part in the annual conference of the Church of England Men's Society at Masterton.
Dr. Maurice S. Wells has been appointed assistant medical superintendent of the Whangarei District Hospital in place of Dr. P. Brunette, who has been appointed medical superintendent of the Nelson Hospital. Dr. Wells is a graduate of Otago University.
