SEVEN-A-SIDE TOURNEY
PAPAKURA DISTRICT SCHOOLS [from our own correspondent] PAPAKURA, Sunday As part of a celebration of the King's jubilee by schoolchildren in the Papakura district a seven-a-side Rugby tourney was played at the Papakura School ground by teams from the Hunua, Cievcdon, Drury, Takanini, Karaka, Ararimu and Clevedon South Schools, for a trophy presented by Mr. T. F. Snell. The Takanini School team was successful, winning the final by three points from Hunua. At the conclusion of the tourney, Mr. Fordyce, headmaster of the Takanini School, in thanking the Papakura School staff on behalf of the visiting teams, expressed the hope that the tourney would become an annual gathering.
