Reserve Bank return fcr the week ended April !!9 was gazetted tonight. The statement was halsiiced at. £27,204.672, or £3'4,831 less than ai; the close of the previous week. The principal movements on the liabilities side are fulls of £J4].,ICS aiid £41,379 in the levels of bankers' deposits and State deposits respectively. The note issue has changed little, there having been an increase of £36.1. One change in the assess s!ightly more than equals the fall iii the two classes of deposits-—a decrease oir £396,064 in the level of the sterling exchange reserve. 'There was a good bench of buyers am I a keen demand in all classes. Quality da.iry cattle were in particularly good _ demand, and several cows and heifers were disposed of at high _ values. 'An exceptionally fine type of Jersey cow, recently calved, brought the highest price of the day, keen bidding closing at £B. A choice Jersey-cross heifer realised £7 15s. Other medium quality cows also sold well.
