AID IN SCOTLAND DUNDEE RESIDENT'S GIFTS British Wireless RUGBY, March 13 It was announced in the House of Commons yesterday by the Secretary of State for Scotland, Sir Godfrey Collins, that the Commissioner for Special Areas in Scotland had been authorised to spend about £106,000 on schemes of work in distressed districts. Other schemes were under active consideration. Sir Godfrey also revealed the fact that the Scottish Department of Agriculture had received a gift from a prominent resident of Dundee, Mr. Mathews, of a 188-acre farm, as well as a trust fund amounting to about £30,000, and other gifts, making a total of more than £50,000, for purposes of settling on the land unemployed men from Dundee.
