CANCER PATIENTS
PERCENTAGE OF CURES BRITISH HOSPITAL FIGURES LONDON. Jnn. 8 " Cancer is undoubtedly curable, said Mr. Lockhart-Mummery, distinguished surgeon, who is chairman of the executive committee of the British Empire Cancer Campaign, in the course of a speech at a St. Mark s Hospital centenary gathering. " Surgeons do not admit a cure until a patient has been well tor five years after treatment," the speaker added. " The statistics of St. Mark's Hospital show that when detected early nearly 100 per cent of cases are cured, and nearly 50 per cent cured in all cases, early or late. I believe it will not be long before the problem is completely conquered."
